Weekend trip to the beautiful island of Leleuvia

After a recommendation from the other elective students at the hospital we booked a 3 day trip ( sneakily taking a day off work each) to the island of Leleuvia to catch a bit of sun. Feeling very fragile from the night before at Currmacawa night club, we reluctantly climbed into a boat at Levuka wharf wondering whether Tom would make it to the island without being sick... again. However it seemed the freshair was a great cure and we were able to appreciate a very picturesque boatride to our tropical paradise.

The resort on the island was much nicer than we had imagined. Very clean, yummy food, great  facilities and wonderful little thatched seaside Bures.
The evening entertainment included really good food (another delicious  Lovo) accompanied by a live band playing Fijian music!

Paddle boards, snorkelling gear, and kayaks were free to rent and they had a trampoline in the sea. We made full use of these with a particular highlight being kayaking out to a distant sandbank were we enjoyed our own private beach... until the tide changed and our little island was submerged forcing us to kayak back.

Mostly, we enjoyed finally getting some sunshine and finding the time to relax on a beach (or in hammocks) after a busy last 2 weeks in Levuka.
